I had the pleasure of spending 2 days with Lori Robertson, Sarah Gaeta, Maury Gallagher and their team at Clear Creek Amana CSD in December.
Their excitement for SchoolDude’s facility usage and maintenance solutions, including FSDirect, CommunityUse, and MaintenanceDirect, were truly contagious. Most of our time together was spent strategizing for the upcoming roll-out of FSDirect for facility scheduling and CommunityUse to allow the community to request facility space after-hours.
Due to SchoolDude’s prior in-depth set-up training, Sarah had the system all set up by the time I made it to Iowa. This allowed us to talk workflow, users, and exactly how the district should handle all the if, ands, or buts when the department rolls out FSDirect and CommunityUse to requesters. Sarah’s organization, expertise, and excitement relayed over to the secretaries and principals we met with while I was in Iowa.
With everyone up to speed with the new way of processing after-hour event requests, Clear Creek Amana is ready to go today, January 2, with a district-wide roll-out. The district plans to give access to several departments to streamline requests, increase coordination and save Sarah and her team time. The principals and secretaries will be part of the work flow. Additionally, Sarah and Lori have the requester links ready to go on the website, so faculty can request after-hours event space easily online. They’ve even had a few eager folks putting through requests already!

Before I sign off, I can’t leave out Maury Gallagher and his amazing maintenance team. They are excited to fully implement the work order management system, MaintenanceDirect, on January 2 alongside facility usage. Maury and his team spent an afternoon learning their roles and playing out scenarios with me to ensure the automatic routing of work orders is streamlined.
Maury is excited to have faculty members use SchoolDude’s MySchoolBuilding request portal to allow them to submit maintenance requests directly online. With MySchoolBuilding, Maury’s team will have access to their work orders on the web. They also decided that having new work order requests sent via text message is the best form of communication for them. Maury didn’t realize turning on text notifications was so easy!
