RSU #21 located in the friendly, rural community of Kennebunk, Maine, includes 6 schools and hosts over 4,500 events each year. Up until 2003, the district had used a paper system to manage daily tasks, including events, but that made it challenging to develop a database for tracking projects and assets.
Maintenance Supervisor at RSU #21, Alyce Swan, finds that most of her peers struggle to manage their facilities with paper, spreadsheets, or by memory which makes it challenging to present a case to the board to get projects approved. But with SchoolDude cloud-based facility scheduling software, she has the facts to back-up her requests so it’s easy to get them approved and keep the school buildings running properly. “It’s my job to take care of the school’s assets and SchoolDude makes that easy,” said Alyce.
Alyce chose SchoolDude for a number of reasons. Unlike competitors, she liked that the solutions were school specific and offered so many integrated options to tackle all the different day-to-day tasks, from capital planning to field trip planning. She also found the cost reasonable and appreciates the 24 hour access to a professional support staff.
