We had a great turnout in San Diego for our inaugural SchoolDude University West event- with over 400 attendees representing 33 states. It was exciting to participate in discussions from the most progressive Education Operations Professionals in the industry! Some of the topics I heard most were:
Hands On Sessions Rock!- 60 clients kicked off the conference by participating in two hands on workshops on Sunday in the Learning Lab. We taught clients step by step, how to create a presentation for your stakeholders using the live operational data collected their SchoolDude solutions. The workshop encompassed Power Point, how to export the most important charts from the Dude Data Dashboard, how to create powerful Pivot Charts, and put all of it into context in a presentation they could take home and share.
Going Mobile- Lots of clients were interested in going mobile with Technicians and staff. What types of devices are best? Should we have them mounted in trucks? How do you make sure they're being productive and not wasting time on the tablet? In an impromptu gathering of clients, Louis Velez with Hawthorne School District in CA (8,855 Students) shared his experience with going mobile. And earlier this week in Community, Lorelei Ciafardoni with Lynchburg City Schools in VA (8,646 Students), shared a report she uses to monitor productivity by employees that have gone mobile. Look for more on this subject as clients continue to share their stories.
KPIs- Key Performance Indicators stirred much discussion in sessions, at the welcome event, and in the learning lab. Having the insight to see not only how you compare to your peers, but defined quantifiable measurements created from years of feedback and experience gives clients an objective perspective on what should be measured. With 52 charts and graphs on the Dude Data Dashboard already formatted with your data, it's an easy button right at your fingertips.
Setting up PM- Preventive Maintenance is one of those things that everyone recognizes it's importance, but many lack the time to get it going. I heard many clients in the lab say their goal was to implement or expand their PM program, and the SchoolDude University learning lab was the perfect place to do it. Relatively free from the day to day interruptions in the office I must have seen hundreds of PM schedules setup over a 3 day span. Check out a recap on the PM Round Tables led by Client Services Director, David Rose.
Crisis Manager- And of course, out latest product release was a huge topic this fall. Moving your emergency plans from a 3 ring binder to your smart phone- even when cell service is interrupted, is a huge step forward in crisis planning and management. We had live demonstrations and templates in the Learning Lab for clients to see how easy it is to implement Crisis Manager for their institution.
Have we piqued your interest yet? Don't procrastinate planning for the next SchoolDude University- March 15th-18th in Myrtle Beach. We're already ramping up for another world class event!
