The Operations Proficiency Model (OPM) is a performance measurement model specifically developed as a framework and a tool to facilitate the identification of continuous improvement initiatives for leaders responsible for maintaining and operating schools and higher education institutions. Included in this model is a set of Performance Characteristics used as a guide for determining the Level of performance for each Discipline within the OPM and for identifying appropriate Key Performance Indicators.
I have included several illustrations of Performance Characteristics from each Discipline in our model below:
Level 1 (Manual)
Level 2 (Automated)
Work Management System Utilized (i.e. CMMS)
Level 3 (Disciplined)
On-Line access for Customers to schedule events
Level 4 (Measured)
Integration with BAS for scheduling
Level 5 (Distinguished)
Technology Department as an enterprise innovation change agent
Please check back for new OPM blog posts in the days and weeks ahead.
We published a book with details on the Operations Proficiency Model and supporting methodologies in 2013. Please plan to join us for one of our OPM sessions at SchoolDude University, April 5th – 9th, or visit our OPM webpage for additional details.
