Keller Independent School District located in Keller, TX, is a longtime SchoolDude client and an all star at automating its maintenance request system. The district uses MaintenanceDirect to not only track reactive maintenance requests, but to also track its pest management requests. Keller ISD’s John Gann, director of maintenance and grounds, was recently featured in School IPM 2015’s June newsletter discussing the district’s superior pest management program.
John has a team of 3 technicians that focus on integrated pest management (IPM), and any request related to pest management is automatically routed to the team through MaintenanceDirect. As a result of implementing MaintenanceDirect the department now has “a faster response time and better communication between the work order requesters and work order providers,” says John. “It’s the best work order system I’ve ever used.”
Five years ago, before implementing an IPM program, “we averaged 600 pest management work orders per year,” reported John. “Compared to this year when we have only had 14.” Keller’s IPM program focuses on extensive staff education, regular building inspections, and improving indoor air quality (IAQ).
