With energy conservation being such a hot topic in schools today and the constant increase in utility prices, reducing your energy consumption, even in small ways, can make a big difference. St. Helena Unified School District in CA realizes this and has made a difference in its district and community!
Brian Clark, maintenance specialist and energy manager for the district, made a commitment over the past year to cut the district’s energy costs. With a conservation program focused on faculty education and mechanical changes, he has been able to reduce electric and natural gas consumption 5-7% in the last 18 months.
He hopes to increase that percentage even further in the next year by getting students involved. To learn how his district reduced energy consumption and their future plans, view the full article in the St. Helena Star.
