If you’re like most institutions, energy consumption is a hot topic of discussion when budget time rolls around. We know many of you are implementing energy conservation measures addressing the “low hanging fruit” opportunities. But how many of you are aggressively tracking the progress of those efforts?
It all starts with tracking those monthly energy bills to raise awareness, catch billing errors, and spot energy sinks that cost your institution money each year.
SchoolDude clients make up the single largest energy database in the world- tracking more than $8 billion dollars total and over $1 billion annually. Within that database we see some really positive trends for UtilityDirect clients.

Raise awareness on the cost of small appliances in classrooms. Some have even started to charge teachers for the use of those small appliances.
Enlist help from some of the biggest energy conservation advocates- students! By teaching them the importance of turning off lights, shutting windows and doors, and powering down IT assets, you’ll have an army of energy czars ready to encourage others to follow energy conservation policies.
