Summer is here, but that doesn’t mean we’re on
vacation. We are always here to answer
your questions and help you get the most out of your SchoolDude solutions. Here are some great ITDirect questions we’ve
gotten recently at the Client Service Center:
I often need to
create a batch of incidents for common tasks, such as setting up a new hire. Is
there a tool in ITDirect that will allow me to do this more efficiently?
Absolutely! Project Templates are used for repetitive
tasks that the IT department does on a recurring basis. For example, when a new hire comes on board,
there are certain tasks that always need to be done, like setting up a
computer, email address, and telephone for that person. These tasks might even
need to be done by different technicians. Project Templates allow you to save
each task as well as assignment information, so that you can create multiple
incidents with the click of a button.

Is there a way to upload multiple assets into
ITDirect at one time?
Yes! While you can always enter assets
individually, you can also upload all of your assets at one time by using the
Asset Import feature. Click
here to learn more about how to
upload your assets.
How can I find out how much time and money
has been spent on an asset?
To track the time and costs associated with an asset, you
must first have your assets listed in the Asset Inventory section of ITDirect.
You will then be able to tie these assets to the incidents that you create. You
and your staff will need to enter labor hours and purchase costs in the
Transaction section of these incidents. You can then run an Asset Inventory
Summary report that will show the labor hours, labor costs, and material costs
I have created a questionnaire
but it is not showing on the MySchoolBuilding request page. How can I fix this?
Once a questionnaire is created it has to be activated from
within the MySchoolBuilding setup page. To do this:
- ~Click on the Account Setup tab.
- ~Hover over the Shortcuts menu and click Setup MySchoolBuilding.
- ~Click on the Requester Questionnaire link.
- ~This page shows a list of all the questionnaires
that have been created in your account.
Find the one you want to activate and click the grey thumbs-down icon to
change it to a yellow thumbs-up. This questionnaire will now appear on the
requester page when the designated Problem Type is selected.
