To help evaluate their facility usage processes and learn about areas in which they can improve, Sandra Lente from Albuquerque Public Schools turned to the Dude Data Dashboard for help. Albuquerque recently implemented SchoolDude’s facility usage solution, FSDirect. Now with a good grasp of the system, they’re working toward continuing to improve cycle times and increase their cost recovery.
Sandra explains, “After viewing our Facility Usage KPI’s, I noticed we were doing well in many areas, but also had opportunities for improvement. Our Average Number of ‘Days to Activate Permits’ is quite a bit longer than what we would like. To help improve our cycle time, we will be showing our KPI Dashboard to our staff of FSDirect approvers at our monthly facility usage meeting and explaining why it’s so important. We hope this will encourage them to help improve this statistic.”
Albuquerque manages over 53,000 events per year. The costs to host those events add up quickly with wear and tear, energy costs, personnel time, AV needs, etc. It was eye-opening for Albuquerque Public Schools to see what they were invoicing compared to other Public K-12 districts.
Sandra adds, “Another area that the Dashboard helped us with was seeing how we compared with other Public K-12 districts on ‘Dollars Invoiced per Student per Year.’ We knew we wanted to start low on what we charged for facility usage. However, seeing that other districts were invoicing a lot more than we were helped support our thinking that we need to soon start recovering additional costs and raise our charges.”
