Congratulations to our client and one of our Campus Champions, Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) on the recognition of their preventive maintenance work and savings across the district! Albuquerque’s local CBS affiliate, KRQE News 13, showed how much APS has saved over the last 5 years thanks to preventive maintenance (PM). The district has saved 2 million dollars with its preventive maintenance program, managed by SchoolDude’s maintenance solution, MaintenanceEssentials Pro.
With schools over 70 years old across the district, the operations and facilities department perform PM to avoid bigger issues down the road and cut down their maintenance costs. The district has saved millions without a change to their budget; instead, they allocate a portion of the operations budget to extensive PM work, which can include anything from oiling doors and inspecting locks to resealing floors and replacing lighting with LED lights for energy savings.
“The whole philosophy is being proactive rather than reactive,” said John Dufay, Executive Director of Operations.
John and his team are using the money saved to modernize classrooms, update classes with new technology, install new playground equipment, and more.
Congratulations John and APS!
