Is there a possibility of providing text messaging as another efficient way, in addition to email notification, to notify any party/league/group when there is a cancellation? Right now, the scheduler receives an email notice when there is a cancellation. Our office team handles a multitude of reservations for many groups relating to community use for all of our county high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, parks and some county facilities. Cancellations can come at any time. As the scheduler, the issue that we are having is that it has to go through us, and then we forward the email notification to the affected party/group that has the reservation that their reservation has been canceled. Email access can be an issue for anyone if the cancellation is last minute. Is there anything in place or that is being developed that would allow an automatic text message to go out to the contact for that particular group affected by the cancellation when a site (such as a school) cancels an event on FS Direct? For example, I am a fan of how Fed Ex allows me to enter my phone number on their tracking page for a text notification when my package has been delivered. I would like to see a similar option available should an event be canceled at a particular location for the group/league to directly receive a text message letting them know. This would be in addition to the email cancellation notification system that is currently in place. We tend to have many last minute cancellations that we sometimes cannot possibly get out in time. This would help with efficiency in community use communications greatly by using the text notification in addition to the current email cancellation system.
