You bring up a great idea and we appreciate you taking the time to submit your thoughts. I would like to offer a work-around solution that you could implement immediately. When a WO is generated, the “Target Start Date” (TSD) is typically populated with the submittal date (this is a selection available from the Account Settings), but that date can be changed. A work-around would be to use the TSD field as a way to identify the date that the WO is assigned to the tech.

When the supervisor, administrator, etc. assigns the WO, they can also populate (or edit) the Target Start Date. This can then be used for reporting purposes. One report in particular that I think you might find to be very beneficial for returning both the TSD and the Creation Date is the Work Order Report – specifically the Detail Report. My personal preference is to open this report as an Excel file so that I can mine and refine the data into something really meaningful and powerful.
