Email Notifications for Admin verses Technicians
Pattie- under the Account Setup tab and Manage Email Notifications link, you have an option to send Administrators a notification when work is assigned to them- check the option to "Notify Work Request Assignment?"
Please give us a call if you'd like further assistance setting this up. It's understandable not wanting two User accounts.
We have several people in our office who are Admins on SD and need the admin access; however, they are also Technicians for specific tasks. For example, my back-up as a comptroller is also in charge of outsourcing pest control and vehicle maintenance and all the work orders that come in for those things. She needs admin access during the day while I am away from my desk or at lunch or to assign parts and labor as a tech. Email notifications let her know that she has something new to check on and outsource; however, as an Admin she only has the option for Email Notifications as "All" or "None". If I have her set up as "All" so that she can receive the notifications of work that is assigned to her, she also will receive all notifications of everything that comes in all day long. She doesn't want that and I understand why. I wish there were an option where she could be notified when a work order is assigned to her but not for every work order that comes in. Instead, I have to remember to send her a notification after I assign work to her.
