disable community use calendar but keep login/registration available
Hey T.J., thanks for posting this idea! CommunityUse was designed to be a public calendar of events so that the community can view events happening at the school without needing an account. One thing we can suggest is to mark all of your schedules in FSDirect as "Private". This will remove the events from the CommunityUse calendar and make them only visible to registered users who are assigned to that Organization. Please let me know if you have any questions!
The first two questions when setting up community use are:
Display your calendar of public facilities events to unregistered visitors? Yes No
Allow Organization Event Coordinator registration/login? Yes No
I cannot answer these questions No and Yes respectively, meaning in order to allow users to sign in or create an account, I have to allow the public to view our calendar. This is a VERY big problem because I may not want the entire world to know where certain groups are meeting and at what time, but would still like to display the link for organizations to register/login. Even if we make every event private, there is still a list of all organizations who request for the general public to see. The first question is "display your calendar..." It does not read "enable/disable community use" but that seems to be what it is doing. THIS IS A MAJOR PRIVACY ISSUE! With a web service that has the ability to keep track of children/student scheduling I find it very hard to believe that I can't keep this information more private.
